App Description

Built by coaches, for coaches.

Countless hours have been spent to develop a system that is “consistent, repeatable and as unbiased as possible”.  It has been a journey of trials and errors, however we believe this app will provide coaches the ability to quantitatively measure soccer player development. In addition, coaches will also be able to easily share their observations and provide feedback to their players.

How it works

The app is designed to evaluate three distinct areas of player development:
Evaluation - A player’s overall ability and this involves rating over 100 points of observation. Intended to be performed periodically.
Practices - Rates observed intensity, comprehension, and execution at every practice.
Games - Level of performance in every game.

Once registered and logged in, for practices and games, start by creating your team(s) and adding your player(s). After adding your team (s) and player(s), you are ready to start evaluating. Create a practice or game and with a few taps on the player’s name (1 tap to count up and 2 taps to count up) the rating process is initiated. For evaluation, simply select the area of observation (dribbling, passing, shooting...etc.). Submit once all player’s ratings have been completed (all name boxes are green) to record ratings.

All three components can be measured with a value of 1-18; 1 is a “Beginner” and 18 is an “Expert”. In an effort to standardize and remove potential biases in evaluations, we have included level of play or competition:

Beginner
Level 1 - 3 (Recreational level of play/competition)
Advance Beginner
Level 4 - 6 (Development level of play/competition)
Intermediate
Level 7 - 9 (Select/ Academy level of play/competition)
Advanced
Level 10 - 13  (Youth Professional Academy level of play/competition)
Elite
Level 14 - 16 (Semi Professional level of play/competition)
Expert
Level 17 - 18 (Professional level of play/competition)

Once a rating is completed, an overall rating is provided to the player (by clicking the player's name).  For the first 19 evaluations, a simple moving average of all ratings is used to provide the overall ratings. After 20 evaluations, the calculation is performed using exponential moving average.
