App Description

AirBuddy – Discover what you're really breathing, all the time

AirBuddy is a simple and fun widget that lets you visualize your actual exposure to air pollution at any time. Whether you're at home, at work, or on the go, AirBuddy tracks the air conditions around you and translates them into a clear, expressive, and immediately understandable representation.

At the heart of the app is your Buddy, a little character who "breathes" just like you: when the air is clean, he's fine; when the air becomes laden with fine particles or pollutants, his expression changes to visually alert you. The goal is to make an invisible phenomenon tangible, while offering you a personalized, continuous, and discreet reading of air quality.

→ An instant reading of your personal exposure

AirBuddy displays at a glance the state of the air you are exposed to right now.

The app uses external air quality data to estimate concentrations around you and provide a clear index, accompanied by easy-to-interpret color codes. The visualization is designed to be consulted quickly, several times a day, to better understand your immediate environment.

Your Buddy: a companion that experiences the same air quality as you

Your Buddy reacts directly to the ambient air:

Clean air → Buddy breathes calmly

Moderate pollution → Buddy begins to show signs of discomfort

High pollution → Buddy has difficulty breathing, prompting you to be vigilant

This playful representation, inspired by the "Tamagotchi" spirit, makes air quality more intuitive than ever.

→ Detailed Pollutant Analysis

AirBuddy gives you access to the estimated concentration of the main air pollutants:

PM2.5, PM10, NO₂, Ozone

Each value is accompanied by a standardized color code, allowing you to quickly assess the level of health risk.

The app also highlights situations where your exposure exceeds the thresholds recommended by the World Health Organization (WHO) or European standards.

→ Exposure History: 24 Hours and Several Days

AirBuddy keeps a simple but essential history:

your exposure over the last 24 hours,

your trend over the last few days or weeks.

This feature helps you identify patterns: times of day with higher pollution levels, places that are usually cleaner or busier, seasonal variations, etc.

→ Completely Anonymized Data

AirBuddy does not collect any personally identifiable information.
