The animal world of Austria app serves as a digital reference work for one
large part of the Austrian fauna. It does not aim to replace specialized literature, but serves more as a compact reference work that you always have at hand on your smartphone or tablet without having to lug around heavy books.

For the first publication we have already integrated over 10,000 animal species.
Insects make up by far the largest part – over 2000 beetle species, over 1000 hymenoptera, over 1000 diptera, all bugs, cicadas, grasshoppers, caddis flies, lacewings, cockroaches, earwigs and dragonflies found in Austria. Over time, however, numerous other animal species will expand the spectrum.

We are aware that the app still has room for improvement. In some places it still takes a long time for the app to respond to user input. It is also often the case that there is a lack of photographic material for certain animal species. However, we didn't want to delay the release any longer and hope that you will still appreciate the content of the app and forgive us for these shortcomings at the beginning. We will definitely improve these over time.
