The sacred Bible (CEI 1974) was published in 1971 by a commission designed by the Italian Bishops' Conference (CEI). It had two revisions: a minor revision in 1974 and a second edition in 2008.

The style of the CEI tries to be closer to the current and contemporary Italian language.
