The Bible Almeida is considered a milestone in the history of the Bible in Portuguese. Translation de Almeida was held in the 17th century and later revised and reissued in the 18th, 19:20.

King James was a Protestant minister who left Portugal to work in the Dutch Reformed Church in Java. At 35, he began the work of Bible translation from the original languages. He used as the basis for his translation of the "Masotérico Text" and "Textus Receptus." Also, he used the translation of Reina Valera and other famous translations of the time.

The Old Testament was completed in 1683, revised in the Netherlands and finally published in 1681. However, Almeida worked on the translation of the New Testament and came to Ezekiel before he died. Jacobus op den Akker completed the translation concluding in 1694.

The first edition of the Bible King James Version was published in 1753.
