Dear colleagues,

In 2023, the Brazilian community of chemists will once again have the opportunity to gather, as it traditionally does every year, to participate in the 46th Annual Meeting of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry (46RASBQ), which will take place from May 28 to 31 de 2023. This time, we will return, after 8 years, to the beautiful tourist destination of Águas de Lindóia, SP. In this way, students, professors and researchers in the area of ​​chemistry and related areas, from all corners of the country, in addition to foreign guests and participants, will have the opportunity to get together to celebrate the advances of this very important science, in addition to the advances observed in correlated areas with an interface in chemistry. Additionally, this will again be a great opportunity for us to hold meetings, establish partnerships, see friends and colleagues, in short, participate in scientific, cultural and social activities that motivate us.

The 46RASBQ will be held at the Convention Center of the Hotel Monte Real, an excellent location, completely renovated, which offers more than five thousand m2 of modern and multifunctional space for carrying out the large number of activities that have always characterized our Annual Meetings.

The theme of the 46RASBQ in this edition will be "Chemistry: Linking sciences and neutralizing inequalities". By launching this theme, the SBQ intends to propose to the participants several reflections on the observed inequalities, at different levels with which we live and how the sciences and especially Chemistry can contribute to their mitigation. This theme was also based on the celebration of 100 years of the main acid-base theories, so important for us, chemists, other natural sciences and related areas.

The Organizing Committee, formed by the President, the General Secretary, Treasurer, Executive Director and Directors, Deputy Directors and Treasurers of the 13 scientific divisions of the SBQ, has already started the work of organizing this Annual Meeting, with the search and indication of names of speakers and other participants that will make up the programming of this great event. Many of these national and international participants have already enthusiastically confirmed their participation and their names are already featured on the page. These are brilliant scientists, whose names you've probably already heard. They will share the best of their careers with us! Thinking about offering activities to our undergraduate and graduate students, the 13 scientific divisions have also already indicated topics for conducting short courses that will be offered, as well as experts from our community to teach them and, given the supply and quality , we bet it will be difficult to choose which course to enroll in, among the most varied topics!

Despite the great challenges of the current moment, the entire Organizing Committee is very enthusiastic and motivated to hold the best possible event for our members, in this location, which has now been completely refurbished and has hosted so many memorable editions of our meeting in the past. In addition, the commission also feels motivated and expects that this meeting of ours will be a great opportunity to promote the encounter and reunion between people, the opportunity to show that Chemistry and Brazilian science is strong, is vigorous, has resisted and will resist , as we saw recently in Maceió, at our 45RASBQ that took place in 2022! This is the time for our community to show cohesion and reaction, further strengthening the society that represents it, our SBQ. We invite the entire chemical community to participate in this annual meeting! Registration for the event, with submission of abstracts, will be open from 12/15/2022 and will close on February 12, 2023.
