App Description
A free platform video game set in the Potenza Library Center.
Book Side is a free side-scrolling platform game set in Potenza's library complex. The "other side of the book" isn't a hidden cover, but what happens when you explore it with your emotions: each volume becomes a level, each page a passage where fears, desires, and memories take shape and transform into environments, characters, and obstacles to overcome.
You'll step into the shoes of a young person nearing graduation: a routine search through the shelves becomes a poetic quest guided by a lost piece of paper listing special volumes. Each book found will be a portal to a dreamlike world, and the library, from a simple building, will transform into a living universe where corridors, rooms, and archives will dialogue with you through real and imaginary characters, unexpected obstacles, and goals to achieve.
The adventure will follow the five stages of falling in love and bring them to life within scenarios inspired by real texts: the epistolary intimacy of Letters to the Girlfriend, the moving geometries of Albert Friscia's Catalog of Works, the echoes of the verses of Rime by Isabella Morra and Diego Sandoval De Castro, the suspended panels of When Everything Turned Blue, and the nature observed in Gavioli's Herbarium.
By playing, you'll learn about the library: services, rooms, book collections, and curiosities of the Library Center will reveal themselves as narrative rewards, transforming cultural discovery into an integral part of the fun.
In this space suspended between what is written and what we feel when reading, every choice challenges the way we look at ourselves and others. Book Side is about inner worlds that spill onto the screen and that moment when you no longer know whether you're reading a book... or if the book is reading you.
