Still Life overlays object and landscape to generate a saturated panorama, challenging physical place to render it vibrant and participatory. It is through audience experience that the artwork addresses us to the paradox of the modern space-time condition, even more diluted between physical and liquid space.
Augmentable sculptures transform physical materials such as glossy clay forms via photogrammetry into virtual matter.
Still life is an augmented reality App, I designed to investigate the processes of nature and the relation with it and what is represented in art nowadays as still life in art.
The artwork speculates on landscapes, paintings, and objects by recreating augmented reality object-oriented space formed diverse random objects as : designed all around the spectators. I used techniques of photogrammetry and 3D scan, then I worked on manipulating the related maps/textures. Through custom game play with fingers, users discover and interact (rotating, translating, scaling) with domestic items. Digitised kettles, vases and sugar canisters etc.
The augmented reality objects aim to animate the exhibition space, showing to the public a dreamlike scenario where the ontology of vision makes the invisible vivacious.
Still Life intersects the contemporary medium of immersive technology with traditional and historical art forms, further diluting the physical into a liminal sphere.
Usage:
Tap on the screen where you see appearing the gold density cloud particle system to place objects on planes. Tap again on the object you want interact to. And scale (gesture: pinch thumb-index) Translate XYZ (gesture: finger back and forth over the screen) and rotate (gesture: finger left and right over the screen)
