MoNatir provides vital and dynamic environmental information

The mobile application – MoNatir provides vital and dynamic environmental information to the public to make them aware of the quality of our environment. The following features have been provided in the mobile app:
Air Quality Index: Daily and updated Air Quality Index (AQI);

General environmental information, including information on:
List of penalties for major environmental offences, including fines for plastics;
Quarterly update on statistics on enforcement;
Plastic: Display list of importers/ manufacturers of biodegradables/ compostable bags and single use products on a map with their respective locations, contact details and type of business;

Solid Waste Management: Display list of waste management sites (Civic amenities centre/ transfer stations/ landfill) for solid and hazardous wastes in Mauritius (their respective locations & direction, contact details of contractors) as well as list of recyclers and exporters with contact details of companies dealing with different types of waste such as paper, carton, timber, electronic, waste oil and construction waste, amongst others;

Weather conditions: link to website of Met. services. to provide information on weather;

News/ highlights: environmental news/ information to be posted for public awareness/ attention

Beach information: List of highly frequented public beaches and associated amenities available onsite (for e.g. toilet block, food outlets, delimited parking and delimited swim zones) to be displayed on a map with their respective locations;
