Enjoy reading the book Good Thought of God by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya with the best offline app for books and stories, and many other features.
This book explores the positive impact of having good thoughts of God, which is that you believe He will have mercy on you and forgive you. It has been said that when you are healthy, you are both fearful and hopeful, and they are equal. It has also been said that fear is more prevalent. If signs of death approach, hope prevails, or is purely hopeful. Because the purpose of fear is to refrain from sins and evil deeds, and to strive to increase acts of obedience and good deeds. This, or most of it, is impossible in this situation. It is recommended to have a good opinion of God, which includes a sense of need for God Almighty and submission to Him.
Having a good opinion of God is one of the noble acts of worship that the believer should fill his heart with in all his circumstances. It should be incorporated into his life, in his guidance, his provision, the righteousness of his offspring, the answered prayers, the forgiveness of his sins, and in everything else.
How wonderful is having a good opinion of God when the believer is certain that after heartbreak comes healing, after hardship comes ease, after fatigue comes comfort, after tears comes a smile, after sickness comes healing, and after this world comes Paradise, as wide as the heavens and the earth, prepared for the righteous.
Author:
Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr, Abdullah ibn Muhammad ibn Ubayd ibn Sufyan ibn Qays al-Baghdadi al-Qurashi, their client, a client of the Umayyads (208 AH - 281 AH), nicknamed Ibn Abi al-Dunya (his nickname overshadowed his real name, to the point that he became known by it). Al-Hafiz Abu Bakr was born in Baghdad in the early third century AH, in the year 208 AH. He was an Arab historian and educator who taught the Abbasid Caliph al-Mu'tadid and his son al-Muktafi. Al-Hafiz Ibn Kathir - may God have mercy on him - said of him in Al-Bidayah wa'l-Nihayah: "He is known for his many beneficial, popular, and well-known works on spiritual matters and other matters. He was truthful, a memorizer, and a man of integrity."

- A gentle and delicate book, appropriate for these virtuous days. Its small size makes it easy to read in one sitting. It doesn't address issues, ideas, or disagreements. All it discusses is having a good thought of God. It doesn't, as you might have thought, guide you on how to have a good thought of God or offer sermons and advice on this. Rather, it cites a number of hadiths about having a good thought of God and the vastness of His mercy, as well as the works of the righteous predecessors from the early centuries...

- One of the most beautiful books I've read. It contains many inspiring stories and phrases. It's not an ordinary religious book, but rather a comforting, inspirational book that reminds you that you have a generous and kind Lord who takes good care of those who "have a good thought" of Him. I recommend it especially to those whose lives have been touched by despair or frustration. Abrar Thabit
- A wonderful book that reminds people of the vast mercy of the Lord of the Worlds. Praise be to God who guided us to Islam, and we would not have been guided had God not guided us. O God, make us among those whose supplications are accepted by You, and grant us the pleasure of gazing at Your noble face, and inspire us with patience in this world and its trials. O God, be with us and not against us, and make us among Your sincere and obedient servants.
Ula Al-Fawaris
- Very, very beautiful, concise, and useful. Muslims need books like this that remind them of God's grace and mercy and the importance of having good thoughts about Him.
Al-Lulu
- A light book that deepens the idea of having good thoughts about God and how to be. Situations from the Prophet's biography and the Companions clarify people's understanding of this aspect, reflecting the truth of their faith. I recommend reading it.

❇️ Some quotes from the book "Good Thought of God" by Ibn Abi Al-Dunya ❇️
- O son of Adam, if you call upon Me and put your hope in Me, I will forgive you for what you did. What you did, I do not care. Even if you were to meet me with sins as great as the earth, I would meet you with forgiveness as great as it. Even if you committed sins reaching the heavens, without associating anything with Me, and then sought My forgiveness, I would forgive you, and I do not care.
- So how would I hate to go to someone from whom I see no good except... O Allah, grant me a good opinion of You and a beautiful reliance on You. I will not go astray while You are my Lord, nor will I be wronged while You are sufficient for me... There is no power or strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Almighty.
- On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Allah, the Most High, says: "I am as My servant thinks of Me, and I am with him when he remembers Me."
- On the authority of Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Allah divided mercy into one hundred parts. He kept ninety-nine parts with Him and sent down one part to the earth. From that part, creation is merciful to one another, even to the point that a mare lifts its hoof from its young, fearing that it might harm it." (Narrated by al-Bukhari)
