Radio Country Pop is a local French-speaking radio station located in Shawinigan. On the air since 2006, it offers 100% Mauricie content and broadcasts the best of new country and pop. The radio serves the city of Shawinigan and the MRCs of Mékinac and Chenaux, in Mauricie. It is the only radio station to always offer an hour of non-stop hits, or a single block of advertisements per hour. All local and national news is broadcast every hour. Country Pop 92.9 is a community radio station with the call letters CFUT. However, these are no longer used on the air. You should know that Country Pop 92.9 was created following the closure of private radio CKSM. The latter had been in operation since April 29, 1951. In 1995, the programming of this radio station was considerably reduced and on June 30, 2007, Astral Media returned its AM operating license to the CRTC.
