The Technology: QR Code Validation
The core of this technology relies on a unique QR code generated for each individual ticket sold. This QR code is not just a simple image; it contains encoded data that serves as a unique identifier for the ticket. This data is linked directly to a specific record within a central, secure database that holds all of the information about the ticket, including the booking details, passenger information, and its current status.

The Validation Process
When a passenger presents their digital ticket at the ferry terminal, the validation process happens instantly:

A ferry attendant uses a specialized electronic scanner or a mobile device with a scanning application.

The scanner reads the QR code and decodes the unique identifier.

This identifier is sent to the central database in real-time.

The database immediately performs a series of checks:

Authenticity: Does this QR code exist in the system?

Validity: Is the ticket valid for today's date and the correct route?

Single-Use Check: Has this ticket already been scanned and used for entry?
