Digitized tool wear detection app for your smartphone
Whenever you are unsure of the cause of an unexpected tool wear, simply use your phone to take a picture of the wear and easily compare it with wear types in a repository of images. The app also allows you to measure the wear and save it or share it.
The Tool Wear Analyzer app from Sandvik Coromant supports anyone working close to the machining processes to help identify causes of cutting tool wear. Different types of tool wear will occasionally get in the way of productive machining and analyzing tool wear can be time-consuming. The Tool Wear Analyzer app provides support to become more accurate and shorten this process.
The app works best if you use a microscope attached to your phone. We recommend a microscope with a zoom factor between 20x and 60x.
