App Description

Tachistoscope

Instant Reading is a tachistoscope, a tool capable of showing a list of text items for a pre-set time, which can be very short.
Currently, the tachistoscope is used mainly for rehabilitation in SpLD (Specific Learning Difficulties). Among the main purposes, there are training and development of direct access to reading (also called lexical access), that is, the ability to globally recognize a written word by recalling it from one's lexical repertoire. The exercises are made up of lists of words, syllables and non-words, of which the app presents one element at a time, leaving it visible for a time set by the Operator, adjustable between fractions of a second and a few seconds.
Instant Reading offers over 90 built-in lists, each averaging about twenty items. Lists can be used for exercises with various adjustment options, according to the characteristics of the Reader and depending on the expected result. For each list the app indicates the level of difficulty and the main purposes for which it can be used.

The app also includes commands to quickly create and add custom Lists. Added lists can be edited (and deleted) and are shown in color in the list of available exercises.
