Plantwise Plant Doctor data collection tool for farmer crop health issues

A data collection app for use by Plantwise Plant Doctors to record crop health issues and recommended actions during plant clinics and farm visits. The app is restricted to registered Plant Doctor and partner accounts.

FORMS

The Plantwise Data Collection app takes Plant Doctors through a series of interview questions with farmers, using principles of integrated pest management, to diagnose plant health problems and identify suitable recommendations for further action.

SEND SMS

Once a Plant Doctor has completed a form, they can choose to send the recommendations identified and noted during the clinic session to the farmer using the SMS feature.

REPORTS

The reports feature allows Plant Doctors to keep a record of their clinic sessions; see trends in crop health issues; and easily update their supervisors on the number of farmers reached.

INTERNET CONNECTIVITY

The data collection forms can be filled in on- or offline depending on where the Plant Doctor is and their internet connectivity. At a later time once the Plant Doctor has access to the internet, they can then submit the forms.

PLANTWISEPLUS

PlantwisePlus is a global programme, led by CABI, to increase food security and improve rural livelihoods by reducing crop losses. Plant clinic records are collated for, and analysed by country stakeholders to inform their plant health decision-making.

The Plantwise Data Collection app works well in combination with the Plantwise Factsheets Library app which allows anyone to browse clear, practical and safe advice for tackling crop health problems. Simply download a country pack to access the information anytime, on- or offline.
