Sizzling Platter Food Handler

For exclusive use by employees of Sizzling Platter. Safe Food Handler Certificate Program published by Cogneti.

This application is for Sizzling Platter employees and managers.

The Safe Food Handler certificate program is an ANAB-accredited program (Accreditation ID 1243) published by Cogneti LLC. The program is self-guided, allows unlimited exam attempts, and is designed for easy, anytime use as a mobile application.

PURPOSE
The purpose of this certificate program is to instruct, assess, and issue FOOD HANDLER cards (badges) and certificates accepted by:

o California
o Illinois
o Arizona
o West Virginia
o Texas
o New Mexico
o Hawaii
o Other local jurisdictions that require food handlers to have a certificate from an ANSI-ANAB accredited organization.


SCOPE
The program scope includes the FOOD HANDLER knowledge and skills as found in the current FDA Food Code, released supplements to the Food Code, applicable U.S. State laws and codes for food handlers, and generally accepted industry practices.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
At the end of the program you will be able to demonstrate FOOD HANDLER knowledge and skill in these topical areas.

o Foodborne illness. Understand how foodborne illness spreads, and how it can be prevented. Be allergen aware.

o Food protection. Maintain good personal hygiene and proper use of gloves. Use time and temperature to prevent food contamination.

o Receive & store. Inspect for quality, safely receive or reject, and manage fresh, frozen, cooled, dry, or canned products.

o Prepare & serve. Correctly thaw, cook, heat, cool, or hold foods. Learn to safely handle, prepare, and serve.

o Clean & sanitize. Practice cleaning and sanitizing as key steps in protecting food and eliminating the spread of foodborne illness.

PROGRAM STEPS TO COMPLETION
All program study levels must be completed. There is no provision for partial work or previous experience.

1. Access the Safe Food Handler Certificate Program

2. Use the LEARN function to begin reading your way through the seven levels of course instruction.

3. Complete a ten-question QUIZ for each of the seven levels of instruction. Practice your recall by taking a quiz several times to increase your recall and skill. When you finish reading and quizzing at one level the next level automatically opens for you.
