Mamelodi Sundowns is a Tshwane-based South African football team that competes in the Premier Soccer League (PSL), which is the country's top division. Masandawana, as they are affectionately known, are the most successful team in PSL history and a force to be reckoned with on the African continent.

MSFC has a formidable women's team, Banyana Ba Style, who have won the CAF Women's Champions League (CAFWCL) twice, including two Club of the Year awards, and are the only club to win the Hollywoodbets Super League five times in a row.

Masandawana men's team won the inaugural African Champions League (AFL) and have won a record 17 South African Premier League titles overall including the last 7 consecutively. Masandawana won the CAF Champions League in 2016, earning African Club of the Year accolades, followed by the CAF Super Cup in 2017.  Sundowns is one of only three clubs in the world to have both its men's and women's teams win a continental title (South Africa/CAF), together with FC Barcelona (Spain/UEFA) and Santos (Brazil/CONMEBOL).
