App Description

Video Inspection Pro is an app designed to allow contractors to connect with licensed inspectors using their smartphones. The contractor adds the job with information such as the address, the type of inspection needed, and the permit number. Once the contractor is ready, they can request an inspection. The inspection request is placed in a queue and the next available ICI or jurisdiction inspector will conduct the inspection through a video conference. During the inspection, the inspector will direct the contractor to show all critical items required by the building code to confirm that the work was done properly. When the inspection is completed, the inspector sends an image to the phone showing the results of the inspection along with essential details and notes. The contractor uses a Bluetooth printer for the results and attaches the results to the permit board. Once the inspector confirms visually that the results are on the permit board, the inspector ends the inspection and notifies the jurisdiction of the results.
Contractors benefit by not having to schedule inspections in advance. Contractors also do not need to spend extra time and gas returning to the job site later. Inspectors benefit by being able to complete more inspections since there is no travel time. Inspectors can also easily train and calibrate with each other since the inspections are recorded.
