App Description

If your child or player is interested in playing volleyball in college, they will need to provide prospective coaches with information to catch their attention. Physical attributes (height, approach touch, block touch, star test timing, etc.) are only one piece of the puzzle. This app cannot help with those components. However, coaches also want information on playing ability -- that includes statistics from quality games or tournaments and highlight videos that show off player abilities. This application will help players with the latter two components -- it will keep detailed statistics of their play and dramatically cut down on the time needed to generate highlight reels from game film.

BBS Volleyball Recruiting Helper was created to track stats in real-time for a single player. The simple user interface allows the user to track serving statistics, serve/receive statistics, passing statistics, hitting statistics, setting statistics, digging statistics, and blocking statistics. Detailed statistics for a single player during a match are available at any time at the touch of a button. Moreover, match stats are retained in a database for easy access after each match. The application can be used to generate a detailed PDF stat summary sheet for each match played. In addition, statistics for multiple matches can be aggregated to show performance across a single day, against a particular team, during a particular tournament or across an entire season. The only limit to the number of different players and matches that can be tracked is the memory available on your device.

In addition to keeping performance statistics, another feature of this app is the Video Assistant. For each match where stats are kept, the app will also keep track of a video sync counter corresponding to key plays (e.g., the time for each kill in each set, the time for each ace serve, the time for each 3-pass on serve receive, the time for each dig, each block, etc). As a result, if tracking stats for an outside hitter or opposite, instead of watching the entire game film to locate where they succeeded in getting kills, you can jump to the time slot in each video where a successful kill took place. Similarly, if you are tracking a setter, you can jump to the time slots for each assist that was awarded in a match. The availability of this data will dramatically cut down on the time
