This application will guide you around the Halle Gate, its collections and exhibitions. The Halle Gate is one of the old town gateways, a vestige of the city wall once surrounding Brussels. It was located along the “small city wall”, between Place Louise and theGare du Midi. This fairy-tale monument is more than 600 years old and remains aremarkable testimony to the town’s mediaeval past. It was once one of the gateways to the fortified town and controlled both people and goodscoming in or out of the city.
Today, an educational visit and a magnificent collection of historic works present the history behind the fortifications in Brussels and the guilds that protected it.
Up on the rampart walk, you’ll have breath-taking 360 degree views over the town and the surrounding area. Thanks to our hi-tech glasses you can also see what the panorama would have looked like 450 years ago!An experience not to be missed during your stay in Brussels!
