This Buy Organic? app can be used to determine the toxicity of pesticide residues found on 50 common fruits and vegetables grown both domestically and outside the U.S. The pesticide data was gathered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the toxicity data determined by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This information was then analyzed and simplified into easily consumed categories by Consumer Reports and is presented within this app. Recommendations are made about when it is safe to buy non-organic fruits and vegetables and when you should buy organic.
