With this essential GEMS app, you can join us in this mission by learning about the GEMS State Model, a scale that focuses on abilities that are retained throughout the progression of dementia. This app will help you learn the characteristics of each GEMS state and ways to provide the optimal care for that state. The app includes a dementia scale comparison chart, video clips of Teepa Snow explaining each GEMS state, and video and photos depicting our Hand-under-Hand technique to guide and assist with everyday tasks. The GEMS app will help shift the way that you understand and provide care for those living with brain change.
