State Price Transparency App

BACKGROUND

The rising cost of prescription drugs has prompted many states to create legislation aimed at increasing drug price transparency. Marbls mobile app allows pharmaceutical manufacturers to comply with their obligations which can be complex and varied, it enables the general population to be better informed very easily on what U.S. states are attempting to do as it relates to support drug price transparency, and ultimately looks to better support the healthcare system.

These laws often establish thresholds for price increases and varying reporting requirements including:
• Transparency to certain types of Pricing
• Price increase justifications
• Research and development costs

THE CHALLENGE

However, there is a lack of uniformity amongst the requirements imposed by each state. Reporting criteria often have varying submission frequencies (quarterly, annually), require submission to different entities (health departments, attorney generals, insurance commissioners), etc. Non-compliance with the reporting requirements often results in fines for the manufacturers.

OUR APP AS A SOLUTION

Marbls has created a mobile app to aggregate the legislative requirements of each state. The app enables analysts and manufacturers to access all current and upcoming business reporting requirements in one place. Users can find detailed information on specific reporting and submission requirements in each state as well as information on requirements that may be forthcoming. The app is updated bi-monthly, providing up to date information on legislative activity.
