App Description

Westway LAB is an event focused on the music sector, founded in 2014, which brings together, in the month of April, in Guimarães, three important dimensions: Creation (artistic residencies), PRO Conferences and Festival.

Westway LAB is a reflection of what is most stimulating in music today, addressing the most pressing themes that permeate musical production on a global level, facilitating the exchange and circulation of artists and professionals throughout Europe. Its annual program is distinguished by bold proposals, new works being created, and the ability to bring together all the actors on the music scene in a high-quality relational environment, which includes strong national and international partnerships.

In all its editions, Westway LAB launches a set of opportunities for artists from various latitudes to work and create original compositions together, to be presented during the festival. Every year, it also launches a call for professionals in the music sector, for an international conference, which brings together delegates from all over the world, to share knowledge and experiences, addressing topics related to music production and distribution.

Westway LAB is an original and innovative idea, implemented by A Oficina in partnership with AMAEI - Association of Artist Musicians and Independent Publishers, which has been joined by many other important entities to reinforce the mission: GDA Foundation, WHY Portugal, ESNS Exchange and Antenna 3.
