Checkers or Draughts is a challenging board game that can train your logic and strategic skills. The name “draughts” comes from the verb meaning draw or move.

The goal of Checkers or Draughts is to remove all your opponent’s pieces from the board or prevent them from making a move.

Checkers or Draughts is played by two opponents, on opposite sides of the game-board. One player has the dark pieces; the other has the light pieces. Players alternate turns. A player may not move an opponent's piece. A move consists of moving a piece diagonally to an adjacent unoccupied square. If the adjacent square contains an opponent's piece, and the square immediately beyond it is vacant, the piece may be captured by jumping over it.

Only the dark squares of the checkerboard are used. A piece may move only diagonally into an unoccupied square. The player without pieces remaining, or who cannot move due to being blocked, loses the game.

When a normal piece reaches the last row on the opposite side of the board it is promoted into a “King” piece. Promoted pieces may move towards either side of the board.

The game is over when one player has no remaining pieces or can't make any valid moves.

While the game might sound relatively simple, directional movement limitations make this game both fun and challenging at the same time. For an entertaining brain teaser, Checkers board game is highly recommended.
