App Description
No internet required. No sign-up. Just a fast, strategic 4-player partnership trick-taking game with a unique twist: no trumps.
Minnesota Whist is a regional Whist variant popular in Minnesota and South Dakota. It’s played in partnerships like classic Whist, but each round is decided by a simple High or Low bidding mechanic — and because there are no trumps, winning tricks is pure suit play and timing.
How the game works
• High round: try to win 7+ tricks
• Low round: try to win 6 or fewer tricks
Why you’ll like it
• Offline play vs AI — no internet required
• No account / no sign-up
• No-trump Whist (great for improving trick-taking fundamentals)
• Smart AI difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard
• Stats tracking to measure improvement
• Hand review during the round and replay from the bid or the play
• Optional set bonus scoring
Customise your rules
• Win target: 7 or 13
• Set bonus on/off
• AI difficulty: Easy, Medium, Hard
• One-tap play option and card sorting
• Replay the hand from the bid or the play
• Review previous hands throughout the round
• Theme and deck customisation
Quickfire rules
After the cards are dealt, each player bids High (black card) or Low (red card). Bid cards are revealed in order; if the first black card appears, that player has granded and the round is played High (teams try to win as many tricks as possible). If all bid cards are red, the round is played Low (teams try to win as few tricks as possible).
Players follow suit if possible. With no trumps, the highest card of the led suit wins each trick. Scoring depends on whether the round is High or Low and whether the set bonus rule is enabled.
