App Description

View your preferred music library folder in a Grid, List, or Cover Flow view.
View album art and lyrics in each track as it plays, and edit the metadata of any track!

Medlied is an app for managing your local music & video library of music files, with support for editing file metadata via context menu. Music can be added to the queue from your library, or from external sources, with options to shuffle and loop tracks. Care has been taken to make your music look its best at any screen/window size and orientation.

Designed to avoid the need to use a Mac to edit one’s local library, edits can be made in-place, and files can be stored anywhere via the Files app. The app itself is developed on an iPad!

Editable file metadata currently includes Title, Album, Artist, Track and Disk Numbers, Artwork, and Lyrics, for MP3 and MP4 files. Unchanged metadata will be preserved when editing.

All supported filetypes support 'soft' metadata editing. Medlied will write edits to a Library file, stored in your chosen library folder, and these will shown instead of the file's own metadata. Setting artwork in this way is not yet supported, but once added it should be backwards-compatible.

Note:
It’s recommended to mark the chosen library folder as available offline if stored in cloud services, as metadata can only be read when the files is available offline. Medlied will attempt to download all media files in the library folder on launch to make metadata available for display purposes.
