Daily Writer: Journal & Diary

A daily journal with one rule: at midnight, today's page locks for good. What you wrote stays exactly as you wrote it, and tomorrow you start a new page.

Write a sentence or a few hundred words. A small countdown next to the date shows how long today's page is still open. When it runs out, the entry is sealed and joins the timeline underneath, a record of every day you showed up that you can read back but never rewrite.

That rule is the point. You can't go back and polish yesterday, so the only thing left to do is write today.

What keeps you writing:
- A streak that grows with every day you write
- A daily word goal you choose, with a line of encouragement as you get close. On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, that line is written on your device in response to what you've typed.
- A reminder at the time you pick
- Photos, Live Photos and videos alongside the words
- A metrics page: a writing-activity grid, words by day, your most active weekday, monthly totals and personal records
- Share cards for an entry or your streak

Turn on iCloud sync and your entries follow you between iPhone, iPad and Mac, where the same journal runs as a Mac app. Entries live on your device and, with sync on, in your own private iCloud.

Open today's page from Control Center or by asking Siri. Choose an app icon and an accent color. The app is available in 51 languages.
