App Description
iInteract is a free communication board for children with autism, apraxia, Down syndrome, and other communication needs. Tap a picture, hear the word out loud — clear, simple, and built to grow with your child.
Used for over a decade by parents, therapists, and special-education teachers, iInteract is the result of two longtime educators (with 20+ years of special-education experience) collaborating with a software engineer to build the tool they wished they had.
WHAT'S INSIDE
• Seven ready-made panels covering feelings, needs, and everyday activities
• Three modes you choose between in iOS Settings:
– Default — bundled panels only, nothing can be changed
– Configurable — hide panels you don't use and reorder the rest
– Customize — add your own panels with your own pictures and your own voice
• Boy and girl voice slots for every interaction (record both or just one)
• 30-day Trash recovery for anything you accidentally delete
• Optional 4-digit PIN to gate the editor from a curious child
• Apple Watch app showing your built-in panels for quick out-of-the-house use
• Mac Catalyst — same app on a larger screen, no separate purchase
• Guided Access integration — toggle "Lock Editor" in iOS's Guided Access Options sheet to lock down the configuration gear with one tap
WHO IT'S FOR
Parents, therapists, special-education teachers, and speech-language pathologists working with emerging communicators. Designed with — and used by — families of children with autism, apraxia, Down syndrome, and other communication needs.
PRIVACY
No data collection. No tracking. No accounts. Your panels, pictures, and voice recordings stay on your device and (if you opt in) in your private iCloud account. Apple sees CloudKit data as encrypted blobs they cannot open.
