This is a story about the history of Ngāti Haua and Te Tāwhiu hapū.
We wish to acknowledge the contribution of hapū of Te Uri O Tai of Pawarenga. We can not share the stories of Whangapē without sharing their stories, as they are part of us and we are a part of them.

This is a story about the history of Ngāti Haua hapū. The Te Aho Ngaruhū project is part of a project initiated by New Zealand’s Ministry of Education (Māori Medium) to provide New Zealand history in a new and exciting way.
Interactivity has been used to create an immersive experience with an original, image-rich narrative. Features include:

- Swipe to Read, Tap to Spell and Read aloud functions.
- Subordinate narration and text in English that can be toggled to access
- A record yourself function that enables readers to record their own or whānau narration, and overlay it in the app.
