No matter the avalanche conditions, imperfect communications will result in questionable decisions. Talking freely about risk and decision-making with partners can be difficult. Many backcountry travelers have some knowledge about identifying hazards in the backcountry. Unfortunately, communicating things that you are seeing, thinking, and feeling is not always straightforward. This can lead to making decisions that are deadly. This app is designed to lower this disconnect in two key ways. First, by providing a framework for a pre-ski conversation about risk. Secondly, by providing a space for a post-ski report where you and your partners can reflect and learn from the decisions that were made.
