App Description

The Rapid Assay Result Ecosystem (RARE) is designed to provide a comprehensive solution for analyzing lateral flow test results through an integrated platform comprising a mobile app and web portal. The mobile app, integrating the Novarum Reader SDK, captures images using a smartphone camera, compares them to pre-configured geometric models specific to the assay format, and measures the output from the assay to extract peak intensities. Method configurations can be delivered ‘over the air’ from the backend web service to the mobile app, enabling use with specific assay formats.

Mobile App:
- Available for download by authorized customers.
- Integrates the Novarum Reader SDK, an in vitro diagnostic (IVD) analyzer, to capture data from assays and upload it to the backend.
- Functions as a laboratory immunoassay analyzer, measuring the output from the assay and extracting peak intensities.
- Captures images using a smartphone camera and compares them to pre-configured geometric models specific to the assay format.
- Rejects images that do not contain the assay or are insufficiently oriented or lit to ensure satisfactory measurements.
- Allows users to choose Methods (reader configuration and housing model) for scanning test assays.
- Dynamically loads Methods from the portal based on user selections.
- Returns all processed image profiles to the portal for storage and display.

Web Portal:
- Acts as a configuration management tool where users can store, manage, and apply different configurations.
- Enables users to register after downloading the app.
- Provides functionality to display results from tests acquired by the app.
- Allows users to create and manage custom Methods for the reader configuration and assign specific tests assay housings.
- Users can reprocess results with different configurations to apply “what if” scenarios to optimise during the development.
