App Description
The Instrumental Giving app powered by Altadena Musicians connects donors with people who have lost instruments, recording gear and LPs in the 2025 LA fires.
Musicians impacted by the LA fires sign up for the Instrumental Giving app. (Don’t worry, it’s free!)
Musicians get verified by providing a driver's license for fire-impacted zone, or an insurance or FEMA letter showing proof of loss.
Once verified, Musicians will be asked to create a "Help Request" for each item they wish to replace.
Donors can browse the Help Requests and can chat directly with the Musician to coordinate the donation.
Once the Help Request has been fulfilled - the musician marks is "fulfilled" so that the donor can apply for a taxable donation receipt for the fair market value of the item donated.
Donors can also post "Help Offers" for items they wish to donate to fire-affected musicians. (Only verified musicians can view Help Offers.)
Musicians can search Help Offers to find replacement items and chat directly with donors to coordinate the donation.
