App Description

Most budgeting apps want your bank login. That felt wrong, so I built something different.

RetroBudget reads your bank and credit card statements (PDFs you already have) and uses AI to sort every transaction into categories automatically. No account linking. No live bank access. Just upload a statement and get a full spending breakdown in minutes.

I built this because I wanted to actually see where my money goes without handing over my bank credentials to yet another app.

How it works:
Upload a PDF statement. AI reads each transaction and categorizes it. You get a clear breakdown by category, merchant, and card. That's it. No setup wizards, no linking accounts, no waiting for bank syncs.

Features:

• AI-powered transaction categorization from PDF statements
• Spending breakdowns by category, merchant, and card
• Multi-card tracking (credit, debit, all in one place)
• Visual charts so you can actually see the patterns
• Live Activity on your Lock Screen while statements process
• Notifications when processing finishes
• Face ID / Touch ID lock for the app
• Sign in with Apple
• No bank logins, no account linking, ever

Privacy, for real:
Your statements are processed and then deleted. Nothing is stored on a server after the AI finishes categorizing. The app doesn't know your bank password because it never asks for one.

Built and maintained by a solo indie dev. If something breaks or you have an idea, reach out. I actually read the feedback.
