SafeK9 – Protect Your K‑9 Partner with Real‑Time Heat Alerts
SafeK9 is the ultimate canine safety app for police and working dog units, offering real-time monitoring of your K-9’s vehicle environment and instant alerts to prevent heat injuries. Purpose-built for law enforcement handlers, SafeK9 helps you fulfill your duty-of-care by keeping you informed of your dog’s well-being at all times. Temperature too high in the cruiser? Humidity rising fast? You’ll know immediately and be able to act – before your partner is at risk. The result is peace of mind for handlers and proven protection for the K9 on every shift.
Key Features:
Live Temperature & Humidity Monitoring:
View up-to-the-moment readings of your K-9 unit’s interior temperature (°C/°F) and humidity right on your iPhone. SafeK9 continuously updates the data so you can watch for any signs of rising heat or inadequate ventilation. If your vehicle’s AC fails or the day heats up, you’ll catch it in real time.
Instant Heat Alerts & Alarms:
SafeK9 immediately alerts you at the first sign of trouble. If the interior gets too hot or humid beyond safe limits, the app issues a prominent on-screen warning banner and sounds a loud audible alarm with vibration. Even if the app isn’t open, you’ll get an urgent push notification on your device. These alerts cut through noise and activity, ensuring you never overlook a developing danger to your dog.
Quick Alert Acknowledgment:
When an alert sounds, you can acknowledge it in-app to let the system know you’re responding. One tap silences the alarm on your phone and logs that you’re aware of the issue. (This information can be shared with dispatch so they know you’re on it.) The alert won’t fully clear until conditions return to normal, but you remain in control – no incessant alarms once you’re taking action.
24-Hour Data History:
Understand your canine’s environment trends with built-in history charts and logs. The app shows a 24-hour timeline of temperature and humidity readings, including markers for any alert events. This lets you review how long conditions were out of range and how quickly the vehicle cooled down, helping you adjust tactics (like parking in shade or leaving windows cracked) for next time. For longer-term analysis, supervisors can use the SafeK9 web portal to retrieve historical data beyond 24 hours, en
