App Description

Apple’s default emojis are a valid classic—they have a clean, refined perfection about them, which Very Necessary Emojis adheres to and then builds on top of.

Lump Gang, on the other hand, is about the perfection of imperfection.

They’re derpy, cute, and somehow deeply honest at the same time. They’re sneaky, they’re loving, and they’re shy. And yet you’ll also find yourself being able to share your weird, crazy, loud, feeling-multiple-contradictory-emotions-at-the-same-time moments.

And, oh yeah, THEY’RE MEANINGFULLY ANIMATED.

If you’re new to the world of custom emojis, welcome. There’s a lot of yourself to explore through what you say and how you say it. And if you’re an OG fan, I hope you find Lump Gang just as necessary as Very Necessary Emojis, and just as impactful, if not more so—to be used with the people you care to be yourself around most, and with new people who get to watch you unfold for the very first times.

And like always, I love reading your reviews and the ideas & suggestions you guys come up with, and I can’t wait to see what kind of Lumps y’all need in your lives, cuz you already know ima make em.

I ended up seeing it a few more times and, on a particularly open-feeling day (you know, those days where you just look at things differently), I realized there was something kinda cool about how specifically it could express a certain type of thinking despite how crudely it was drawn.

I started sketching to see if I could recreate it. Then I had to see what else I could make in this style. Then I got hooked.

And what I fell in love with was the ability to share the different sides of me through these really simple but super honest little lumpy things that move and really SHOW what you’re feeling, not just summarize it in a jpg.

Believe it or not, this project took FOREVERRR. Like, I’m talking pause-your-whole-life type shie.

But they’re finally out, and I’m super excited to be making a new lump every week (just like I do with Very Necessary Emojis) because there are so many emotions big and small that I feel like we could all really use, and even though Lump Gang LAUNCHES with 372 lumps (VNE only launched with
