App Description
Turn any image or video into a sound design roadmap.
Sound Atlas analyzes scenes with on-device AI, then suggests sound effects and ambiences—using your own sound library as the source of truth.
Whether you’re designing for film, games, TikToks, YouTube, or class projects, Sound Atlas helps you quickly answer one question:
“What sounds should I use here?”
ANALYZE IMAGES AND VIDEO
• Import photos or video clips from your device
• Detect key objects, environments, and actions in each scene
• Get a visual scene timeline for videos with per-shot breakdowns
• See both literal and creative sound suggestions side by side
ENVIRONMENT & SPACE AWARE
• Detects scene types: outdoor, indoor, urban, nature, water, industrial, domestic, transportation, and more
• Infers spatial qualities: open/expansive, enclosed, reverberant, metallic, organic, wet/fluid, busy or quiet
• Suggests ambient layers that match the environment (room tone, city wash, nature beds, etc.)
SOUND SUGGESTIONS POWERED BY YOUR LIBRARY
• Object-based sound ideas for 900+ real-world objects and elements
• AI-generated creative prompts for more experimental sound design
• Matching results from your own sound catalog (not a stock library)
• Separate layers for objects, ambiences, and sweeteners
PERSONAL LIBRARY BROWSER
• Reads catalog exports from the companion macOS Library Manager app
• Filter by common categories: rain, traffic, footsteps, doors, foley, etc.
• Search across file names, packs, and tags
• Tap to view details, tags, and context
• iCloud support for automatic catalog loading when available
EASY CATALOG INTEGRATION
Use Sound Atlas alongside the Sound Atlas Library Manager (macOS):
1. Export your sound catalog from the macOS Library Manager
2. Save the export as SoundAtlasLibrary.catalog.json
3. Place it in: iCloud Drive → Sound Atlas
4. Sound Atlas for iOS loads it automatically on launch
Prefer manual control?
• Use the Library tab to choose any .catalog.json file via the system file picker.
DESIGNED FOR WORKING SOUND DESIGNERS & STUDENTS
• Get fast, structured ideas instead of staring at an empty timeline
• Use your own trusted library instead of random online results
• Great for sound design classes, homework, and lab work
• Perfect for sketching first passes before detailed editing in your DAW
