App Description
GSCam is an app that lets you overlay a 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) model onto the iPhone’s live camera feed and shoot/record while confirming realistic spatial compositing **on the spot**.
It’s ideal for location scouting, VFX/compositing verification, AR staging tests, and previewing creative work.
## What is “3DGS (3D Gaussian Splatting)”?
3DGS is a new form of 3D representation created from photos or video.
Unlike traditional polygon (mesh) models, it represents space as a collection of countless **Gaussian points** (tiny particles). This makes it easier to achieve a lifelike texture and atmosphere—closer to real footage.
With GSCam, you can display 3DGS in AR on top of the iPhone camera view, adjust its placement, and record while previewing.
## Key Features
* Load 3DGS (PLY) files and display them in AR over the camera view
* Intuitively adjust **position / rotation / scale**
* Record video while previewing the AR composite
* Save recorded videos to the **Photos** app
* Uses only the necessary permissions (Camera / optional Microphone / Photos saving)
## Recommended For
* Video, VFX, CG, and XR creators working with 3DGS-based production
* Anyone who wants to quickly check on-site: “Does this composite actually work?”
* Creators who want to incorporate 3DGS into their work, but first want to preview it live on camera
