App Description
Goal-Task-Chore is your to-do list. Improved.
Every day, I made to-do lists on paper with a list of chores I'd focus on as well as other things to accomplish, from small things (like feed the cats) to tasks I need to do to move some project forward (like making a to-do list app for the app store).
I'd mark them off, one-by-one, but at the end of the day, I'd sometimes have things left over which I might remember to put onto the next day's to-do list.
Out of this, Goal-Task-Chore was born.
Goal-Task-Chore not only lets you create a list of Tasks to do once (and keeps them on the list until you complete them or delete them, so you don't have to remember to write them down again tomorrow), but also lets you create Chores, which are recurring tasks that you can schedule to appear on your to-do list regularly--weekly on Saturday, on the first of the month, or every day at noon.
You can also create Goals, which are more like projects than simple single items, and you can add steps to those Goals which are discrete tasks you can accomplish on your way to achieving your goal. It might be as nebulous as to lose weight or to write an iPhone app, but it can also be a larger grouping mechanism for tasks such as cleaning the garage or redecorating the house--where you might move towards the goal over time and to see and to track your progress as you do so.
Each Goal, Task, and Chore allows you to set priorities, due dates, categories, and descriptions.
You can filter and sort your to-do list by categories and item types to narrow what you see.
Goal-Task-Chore also offers a calendar view so you can see items with due dates when they're due and a Top 5 List which shows only the five most important things to do based on priority and due date--so instead of a list of dozens of items, you can focus on the most important.
All items and data are stored locally, so you don't have to pay a subscription fee. But Goal-Task-Chore does offer the ability to export your undone work and to import it on another device--so you can transfer it to your iPad from your phone, for example, or share a list with the family.
