Luna: Moon Phase Sun Tracker

Moon Phases is a privacy-focused moon phase and astronomy app that brings accurate lunar data, solar events, and sky conditions to your location. Whether you plan a photo shoot, plan a stargazing night, or simply want to know when the moon rises, Moon Phases delivers the information you need.

MOON PHASES
View the current moon phase with a clear visual representation and illumination percentage. See moonrise and moonset times for any selected date. Moon Phases displays all eight phases: New Moon, Waxing Crescent, First Quarter, Waxing Gibbous, Full Moon, Waning Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Waning Crescent. Each phase includes a brief description for accessibility.

ASTRONOMY DATA
Access detailed lunar metrics: distance from Earth in kilometers or miles, altitude above the horizon, moon age since the new moon, and illumination percentage. Each value includes an info button with an explanation. Units are configurable in Settings.

UPCOMING PHASES
Plan ahead with upcoming major moon phases. See when the next full moon, new moon, or quarter phase occurs and how many days remain.

SKY CONDITIONS
Check observation quality with a score from 0 to 100 based on cloud cover, wind, and humidity. View a 24-hour cloud coverage chart to find the best windows for stargazing or photography. See current wind speed and humidity, clear sky windows when available, and precipitation probability.

PHOTOGRAPHER TOOLS
Solar events: sunrise, solar noon, and sunset times for your location. Golden hour and blue hour ranges for soft, warm light and twilight photography. Moon phase tips tailored to each phase, from Milky Way shots during the new moon to detailed lunar surface shots during the full moon. Shooting conditions combine moon phase and sky data to rate the suitability for photography.

LOCATION
Use your device location for automatic updates, or enter a city manually. Your choice of location is saved and restored when you reopen the app.

CUSTOMIZATION
Choose 12-hour or 24-hour time format. Switch between light, dark, or system theme. Set distance units to kilometers or miles and wind speed to km/h or mph. All preferences apply across the app and widgets.
