HOW IT WORKS
SpeedReading combines two powerful methods into one seamless experience:
Bionic Reading highlights an anchor letter at the optimal viewing position of each word, with the first portion in bold and the rest in a lighter weight. Your brain uses these visual cues to recognize words faster without reading every letter.
RSVP (Rapid Serial Visual Presentation) displays one word at a time in a fixed position on screen, eliminating the eye movements that slow down traditional reading. Together, Bionic RSVP lets you push past your natural speed ceiling while maintaining focus.
TRAINING MODULES
- Bionic RSVP: The core training module. Words flash on screen with anchor-letter highlighting and variable font weight. Speed adapts automatically based on your comprehension accuracy. Includes save and resume so you never lose progress mid-session.
- Speed Test: Measure your baseline reading speed with timed passages and comprehension quizzes. Track your WPM improvement over time with detailed results and personalized feedback.
- Peripheral Vision: Expand your visual recognition span with rapid flash drills. Words and phrases appear briefly in your peripheral field. Identify them correctly to train wider fixation, reducing the number of eye movements per line.
- Word Chunking: Practice reading groups of words together instead of one at a time. Adjustable chunk sizes and speeds help you build the habit of phrase-level reading, a key skill for faster comprehension.
- Reading Library: Browse 22 curated passages across 14 categories and 3 difficulty levels. Every passage is rendered with bionic formatting. Adjust fixation ratio and font size to match your preferences.
