Morning and Evening Devotional

Charles Spurgeon’s Morning and Evening is one of the most beloved and enduring daily devotionals in Christian history. Written by the 19th-century British preacher Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892), it consists of two brief meditations for every day of the year—one for the start of the day and one for its close.

Each entry begins with a short Scripture verse, followed by a page-long reflection. Spurgeon’s writing is characterized by its "biblical richness, extraordinary eloquence, and practical application." Known for his "Prince of Preachers" title, he possessed a unique ability to weave together deep theological insights with a warm, pastoral tone.

The devotionals aim to help believers "abide in Christ" and find spiritual refreshment amidst daily trials. Spurgeon believed that the morning and evening were critical spiritual "thresholds" that should be guarded with prayer and meditation.
