App Description
Chessie is a safe chess adventure for kids, now bigger and more playful in version 2.1.
Children learn chess by helping Chessie travel through colorful worlds, solve puzzles, beat funny opponents and try new game modes from the Book of Games. No ads. No marketing trackers. No in-app purchases. Just chess, story and smart play.
New in 2.1: the Book of Games
The Book of Games is Chessie’s new shelf for playful chess variants: Horde, Antichess, Racing Kings, Lonely King and hand-built starting positions. The main menu still holds lessons, puzzles, adventure and multiplayer; the Book of Games is where chess rules get delightfully bent.
Kids can try:
• Horde: stop a huge army of pawns
• Antichess: a backwards-feeling chess challenge where losing pieces can help
• Racing Kings: race your king to the finish
• Lonely King: survive with just your king against a whole army
• Hand-built games with fun starting positions and playful rules
It feels playful, but it is still real chess learning. These modes help kids understand piece value, king safety, promotion, tactics, tempo and planning.
A story kids can follow
Chessie is a brave little prince in red armor. Across 5 painterly worlds and 100 adventure levels, kids meet memorable opponents, unlock cutscenes and keep moving forward by playing chess.
Learn without pressure
22 interactive lessons teach the board, the pieces, checkmate, tactics and clever ideas like forks, pins and skewers. Chessie coaches during play, celebrates good moves and explains mistakes gently.
Puzzles every day
Solve 250 hand-built puzzles plus a new daily challenge. Practice checkmate in 1, 2 or 3. Filter by difficulty and build confidence step by step.
Play together safely
Pass-and-play works on one device right away. Online games use Apple Game Center/iCloud invite codes with friends. No open chat. No strangers. Designed for families.
Serious chess under the fun
Chessie uses Stockfish and follows official chess rules. The AI starts beginner-friendly and can grow with stronger players, all the way up to serious chess levels.
