App Description
Refrigerant Charge Calculator is built by HVAC technicians for HVAC technicians to calculate additional refrigerant charge requirements. Calculate additional refrigerant charge requirements for copper line sets based on liquid and suction line length and diameter - supporting 10 refrigerants including R-410A, R-454B (next-gen replacement), R-32 mini-splits, and EPA 608 refrigeration blends.
FEATURES:
Calculate Additional Refrigerant Charge - For copper line sets of any length
10 Refrigerants Supported - R-410A, R-22, R-454B, R-32, R-407C, R-134a, R-404A, R-507A, R-290, R-717
Liquid Line Diameters - 1/4" to 1-1/8" standard copper sizes
Suction Line Diameters - 3/8" to 2-5/8" standard copper sizes
Results in Multiple Units - Ounces (oz), pounds (lbs), and grams (g)
Industry-Standard Data - Charge-per-foot from manufacturer installation guides
Warnings for Long Line Sets - Alerts when unusual refrigerant quantities are needed
100% OFFLINE OPERATION:
Works without internet connection. All refrigerant charge data built into the app - no server calls, no delays, no data leakage. Perfect for job sites without cellular coverage.
HOW IT WORKS:
1. Select your refrigerant type (R-410A, R-454B, R-32, etc.)
2. Enter liquid line length (feet) and diameter (inches)
3. Enter suction line length (feet) and diameter (inches)
4. Get instant charge calculation in oz, lbs, and grams
WHY YOU NEED THIS CALCULATOR:
When installing split systems, mini-splits, or equipment with long line sets, the factory charge only covers standard line length (typically 25 ft). Every extra foot of copper tubing requires additional refrigerant. This calculator provides exact amount based on industry charge-per-foot tables - preventing system undercharge that destroys compressors.
SUPPORTED REFRIGERANTS:
R-410A - Residential AC & heat pumps (most common 2026)
R-22 - Legacy systems still in service (phaseout complete 2030)
R-454B - Next-generation R-410A replacement (EPA mandate 2025+)
R-32 - Mini-split & VRF systems (lowest GWP option)
R-407C - Commercial AC applications
R-134a - Auto AC & water chiller systems
R-404A - Commercial refrigeration freezers
R-507A - Low-temperature refrigeration systems
R-290 - Propane systems (hydrocarbon alternative)
R-717 - Ammonia industrial refrigeration
