THE 30-DAY RETREAT

Walk the seven mansions over thirty days, six gentle steps each day: a verse, a reading, the Quietud (Teresa's prayer of quiet), a colloquy, and a closing reflection. About twenty-five minutes a day, at your own hour. You set the pace.

The text is Teresa's autograph 1577 Spanish, paired with the Stanbrook Abbey 1911 English translation — both public-domain Catholic patrimony.

THE QUIETUD

Teresa's oración de quietud, drawn from Camino de Perfección chapters 26 through 29 and Las Moradas IV: not breathwork, not generic meditation — just looking at the Christ who looks at you ("Mira que te mira"). Five to fifteen minutes of silence, with a rotating Teresian anchor word for each session.

You choose which language leads; the other stays visible underneath. Teresa's mansion names, source citations, and traditional prayers (the Salve, the Sub Tuum, the Padre Nuestro) stay in Spanish either way — because that is what she wrote.
