App Description

The 17th International Symposium on Fiber-Reinforced Polymer Reinforcement for Concrete Structures (FRPRCS17) will take place from July 6 to 8, 2026, in Girona, Spain. The symposium is jointly organized by the University of Girona, Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, University of the Balearic Islands, and University of Sheffield.

FRPRCS17 will bring together researchers, engineers, practitioners, industry representatives, and manufacturers involved in the development and application of FRP and composite materials in civil engineering. The symposium will address both new construction and the strengthening, rehabilitation, and preservation of existing infrastructure and structures.

The technical program of FRPRCS17 includes a wide range of scientific and professional activities, including: (i) keynote lectures delivered by internationally recognized experts, providing state-of-the-art insights into FRP technologies and their future developments; (ii) regular parallel technical sessions presenting the latest research findings, innovative applications, and practical developments related to FRP composites in civil engineering; (iii) special sessions dedicated to emerging and specialized topics, designed to complement and enrich the regular program; (iv) the Young Researchers' Event, focused on career perspectives and opportunities for the next generation of researchers and professionals in the FRP field; (v) Women in FRP, a special plenary session and roundtable discussion celebrating and promoting the contribution of women in FRP research and practice; (vi) Meet the Editors session, where editors from leading international journals, including Journal of Composites for Construction, Construction and Building Materials, Journal of Building Engineering, Structural Concrete, Advances in Structural Engineering, and Materials and Structures, will share guidance and practical advice on academic publishing and scientific writing; (vii) conference award initiatives,
including the IIFC Best Paper Award and the RILEM Best Paper Award for Young Researchers, aimed to encourage excellence and innovation in FRP research; and (viii) technical visits to outstanding engineering and construction projects, including the Sagrada Família, the extension works of Barcelona Metro Line 8, and the construction works of Barcelona Metro Line 9.
