App Description
PHVD is an educational and reference tool for qualified neonatal healthcare professionals working with post-haemorrhagic ventricular dilatation in preterm infants.
Enter serial cranial ultrasound measurements — ventricular index (VI) and anterior horn width (AHW) — alongside post-menstrual age. Plot measurement trends and view the published green, yellow and red risk framework adapted from El-Dib et al. (2020), with TOD excluded in this version. Clinical signs are included in the published criteria.
FEATURES
• VI and AHW trend graphs using the authors’ supplementary reference curve
• Published risk criteria and management guidance for reference
• On-device camera recognition of measurement numbers, with manual assignment and verification
• Resistive Index recorded as supplementary information
• Save an assessment image to Photos
• English, French, Spanish and Portuguese interfaces
• Local measurement history
PHVD does not provide a diagnosis or an independent treatment recommendation. It does not replace clinical assessment, imaging review or your unit’s protocol. Every measurement and output must be independently verified by a qualified healthcare professional.
PRIVACY
Measurement history and image processing remain on your device. The app has no account, login or analytics and does not transmit your entered measurements.
A disclaimer must be accepted before use. References to El-Dib et al. (2020) and Brouwer et al. (2012) are available in the app.
