Discover the rich heritage of Jerusalem's Old City with the Waqf Jerusalem app. This application serves as a comprehensive digital documentation tool for Waqf properties, bringing historical data to life through advanced GIS technology.
Navigating the complex landscape of the Old City's heritage sites can be tricky, but whether you're a researcher, field worker, or history enthusiast, this app makes it incredibly intuitive. Built on high-resolution aerial imagery from 2019, Waqf Jerusalem provides a highly accurate, interactive mapping experience right in your pocket.
Key Features:
• Interactive GIS Mapping: Explore a detailed, modern map of the Old City pinpointing Waqf properties, religious sites, schools, clinics, and historical sites.
• Advanced Filtering: Cut through the noise and easily search for specific sites by Waqf Name, Year of Building, and Usage type.
• Detailed Property Profiles: Access in-depth information for landmarks, including construction year, site size in square meters, current usage, and historical photo galleries.
• Offline Field Access: Designed for real-world practicality, the app allows field teams to access vital historical records and maps even when exploring areas of the Old City with a spotty internet connection.
The Waqf Properties Documentation Project is a collaborative preservation effort implemented by Palvision and ARIJ, with the generous support of the European Union (EU), dedicated to protecting and documenting the cultural and historical identity of Jerusalem.
