Fretwise - Learn Guitar Chords

A practice app for first-time guitarists — no internet required.

Fretwise ships with every lesson and song inside the app. No sign-up, no login, no network connection: you can make your first sound the moment it installs. It works exactly the same in a basement practice room or on a plane.

■ The mic listens and scores
While you play, your pitch and timing are judged in real time. Every note is marked correct / early / late / missed, and you get your accuracy and the passages you missed at the end.

■ A practice coach decides today's menu
Your practice history is analysed on-device to suggest what to play, how slowly, and how many times — always with a reason: "100% of notes in this passage were judged wrong recently." Do well and the tempo rises; struggle and it comes down. Reviews resurface right before you forget.

■ A step-by-step curriculum of 35 lessons
From holding the guitar to first chords, chord changes, strumming, and finishing your first song. Complete 80% of a step to unlock the next. Each lesson takes about five minutes.

■ 16 chord diagrams
12 open chords and 4 barre chords, showing which finger goes on which fret, with sound. Left-handed mirror mode included.

■ A tab player built for practising
Playback speed 25–150%, tap measures for an A-B loop, count-in. Slowly looping the hard part is the fastest way to improve.

■ Tuner and metronome
A ±5-cent tuner that detects which string you plucked. Standard, Drop D, half-step down, DADGAD and open G tunings. Metronome from 40–240 BPM in 2/4, 3/4, 4/4 and 6/8.

■ Privacy
Mic audio is discarded the moment pitch is detected — never stored. The app contains no networking code at all and collects no personal data.
