App Description
WHAT IT DOES
JewellerDesk is an offline intake record for a jewelry repair counter. It records the condition a piece came in, before the work is agreed, and produces the receipt the customer keeps.
The intake, in the order it happens
• Customer, ticket reference and who took it in. The app does not number jobs for you, so the envelope and the record cannot disagree
• The item as the customer describes it, and as you see it
• Every stone counted and marked secure, loose, missing or not checked. A stone lost later stops being an argument about when
• Condition photographs at the counter, before anything is agreed. A note written afterwards says nothing about what came in. Each one is numbered P1, P2, P3 in the order taken
• The declared value, in the customer's own words
• The customer signs
• At handover, the intake and handover photographs side by side, and a second signature
The board
• Counters for what is in the safe, due today, overdue and ready. Tap one to see only those jobs
• Every job shows the piece's first photograph. Any photograph opens full screen with zoom
The record names its own gaps
• A job with no photograph, no signature or an unchecked stone says so on its face rather than looking complete
• Status through the shop: in the shop, at the bench, ready, collected, or returned with no work done
• Held days, so nothing sits in the safe unnoticed
• A nudge for work that is ready and still uncollected
• Edit any part of the record later, and keep notes for the bench
The price
• The quoted figure is kept separately from the running total, so a divergence is visible rather than hidden
• The receipt prints the quoted figure and the date it was agreed
The receipt
• The customer's copy, with the condition, the stones, the declared value and the signature
• Photographs printed two to a row, with the same P1, P2, P3 numbers the app shows
• It says in its own words that the declared value is what the customer stated, that it is not a valuation, and that the shop has not assessed, graded or authenticated the piece
• It carries no exclusion of liability, which would not be enforceable against a consumer in the UK
• Printed in English, whatever language the app is set to
The bench docket
• One page for the bench: the ticket reference, the customer's name, the work agreed, the stones and the numbered photogr
